Field Set for 2018 PAC 8 Championships

PAC 8 Championship 2018 South Lake Tahoe, CAThe regular season of the PAC-8 Hockey Conference is complete and this weekend is Championship Weekend at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena, 1176 Rufus Allen Blvd, SLT, CA 96160

The three-day tournament begins this Friday, February 8, 2018 – with the first round games and will conclude on Sunday afternoon with one of five teams taking home the 2018 PAC-8 Championship trophy.

California is the #1 seed in this year’s tournament, winning the PAC-8 regular season title with a 11-1 conference record. Your second seed this year is Arizona State with a 9-3 record, after returning to the conference this season. Both teams earned a bye and will be the home team in each semifinal game on Saturday.

The third and four seeds went down to a tiebreaker as UCLA and Washington finished the regular season with identical 6-6 conference records. UW earned the third seed because of head to head play.

The fifth seed in this year’s tournament is USC, who finished the PAC-8 season with a 5-7 record. The University of Oregon rounds out the tournament in the sixth seed and a season record of 3-9.

The tournament will begin on Friday at 1 PM PT with the first round game between #4 UW and #5 USC. The winner of game 1 will take on top-seeded California in the first semifinal at 1pm on Saturday. The second game of the day will begin at 4PM between #3 UCLA and #6 Oregon. The winner of game 2 will take on #2 ASU at 4 PM on Saturday. The losers of Friday’s games will play in the PAC-8 5th Place Game on Saturday Morning at 10 AM.

Semifinal games will occur at 1 PM & 4 PM on Saturday Afternoon. The 2018 PAC-8 3rd Place game will be on Sunday at 10 AM and puck drop for the Championship game is at 1 PM.

Game 5 (400PM): Highest Winning Seed vs #2 ARIZONA STATE
